The all new 2015 Ford Mustang at Lakeland Ford

The hype, the performance and the style – Not just words but action!

At Lakeland Ford, we anticipate the annual release of new models every year, but for some reason, the public has spoken and keeps wanting to know more about the two biggest Ford model releases for 2015 – the Mustang and F-150. For this article we’ll concentrate on the 2015 Ford Mustang since we saw it first hand at the NADA (National Automotive Dealers Association) Conference in January in New Orleans. We were able to walk around two different models and peek under the hood, sit in the driver’s seat and kick the tires (Sorry, we weren’t allowed to actually drive one). The surprising thing about the release back in January was that the momentum hadn’t even begun; it took a few months before photos started to circulate and interest among car enthusiasts began to take hold. The new design was probably the biggest discussion on the blog postings and among the Mustang groups across the country. Then in June Ford started a small tour of the 2015 Mustang – not even telling their own dealerships it would be arriving for a ‘preview’. At Lakeland Ford, by the time word started to spread that the car had arrived, it was being whisked off to another undisclosed dealer. We had about 2 hours with the car. Our salespeople could look at it, take pictures and ask the Ford Team questions about performance and features. Then it was over. The excitement and buzz about Lakeland Ford actually having a 2015 Mustang on the lot was gone. All that was left was the memory of what it looked like, a few blurry cellphone pictures and a Ford Team that wouldn’t (or couldn’t) confirm a solid “at dealership” delivery date.

What we were left with was the steady trickle of information that Ford was producing to promote the new model and its features. Not that we have any more information than we did in June, (we think Ford is secretly manufacturing Mustangs and hiding them) but the rumor is the first 2015 Mustang models will be coming soon…. So how soon is soon? If we really know, we would have to have signed affidavits of confidentiality witnessed by six attorneys and co-signed by a circuit court judge before we could tell you we weren’t allowed to tell you. What we can tell is is included in the rest of this article… we’re just glad we didn’t have to sign in blood!

The Design

Ford says that the design is entirely new, but the soul is entirely Mustang. That’s like saying that you just shed 50 lbs. and put on 20 lbs. of muscle with six-pack abs. You can bet the 2015 Ford Mustang is more than just a pretty shell – it’s got the guts to back up the punch everyone expects. With the first major exterior re-design in years, the reflection of the Mustang shadow looms large. Sweeping lines and bold exterior curves gives the 2015 Mustang a look that rivals it’s muscle car image of the past.

The Cockpit

There is a strange similarity between the Mustang car and the Mustang airplane. Both make you feel like you’re in complete control and both can take you places you’ve never been before. Ford has taken the driving experience to the next level creating a dynamic driving experience like no other. With integration of advanced technology, the 2015 Ford Mustang hasn’t forgotten the history that it has built upon giving the driver a merge between the past and present – mixing the analog with the digital and keeping the performance experience at the heart of the driver. Sliding into the drivers’ seat feels like it hugs your body with caressing perfection. Although you might seem like the closeness of the interior features are overpowering, the ease of access to the most demanding driving needs make the term ‘at your fingertips’ seem all too real.

The Performance

The 2015 Ford Mustang offers a 3.7-liter V6 and the available 5.0-liter V8 that will put the power and performance back into the hands of the driver with the benefit from increased power. As an added bonus, Ford has paired the Mustang performance with the EcoBoost® engine, giving it a richer, cleaner and better fuel economy with added performance.

The Ford EcoBoost® Technology delivers efficiency with real power to the Mustang powertrain lineup. A high-capacity direct injection system precisely controls fuel delivery, while a new twin-scroll low-inertia turbocharger means incredibly fast time-to-torque. So for the serious drivers, this means faster response and tighter control over the performance of every turn.

The 2015 Ford Mustang features a fully independent rear suspension for increased control and added dynamics to every driving experience. This design change not only improves body roll, but also isolates road imperfections for a better feel. So when you’re taking that corner or driving city roads you will fell less of the imperfections of the road because of the advanced suspension and handling control.

This is not technology for technology’s sake. Every feature Mustang offers enhances your driving experience – whether it’s the advanced sensors that detect cars in your blind spots or the advanced communications system.

As long as you have the key on you, you can unlock the door and start the car without ever having to reach into your pocket.

This is the first time this advanced in-car communications system has been available in a Mustang – adding a center touch screen along with voice-activated control.

Want to pre-order your very own 2015 Ford Mustang? We can do that, but we can’t tell you exactly when it will arrive… even if you sign in blood.
